Portraits for All
My name is Grant Sims and I'm a Junior at Boulder High School.
Portraits for All is a student-run organization through which professional photographers can donate their time to shoot the portraits of high school seniors who qualify for free and reduced-price lunches or who can demonstrate financial need through another avenue such as referral by a high school teacher or staff person. I am reaching out to all the high schools in the area as well as organizations for at-risk youth like Attention Homes to let them know about this opportunity. As I'm sure you are aware, there is a huge discrepancy between the quality of the senior photos of kids from wealthier families and those from less privileged backgrounds. Families living paycheck to paycheck can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on portrait sessions for their children, so most of them end up using their generic school ID photo instead.
At Portraits for All, we believe that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic status, should have senior portraits that they love and are proud of.
As the Director of Portraits for All, I was hoping that you could help me get the word out to students about this opportunity. The sign-up form is on our website, www.portraitsforall.org. It's a very straightforward and secure process.
Of course, we want to make sure that these students' identities stay anonymous (they will only be shared with the photographer with whom they are paired).
Thanks so much,
Grant Sims
